He wrote in his  Instagram,” Lake Oroomieh once was the largest salt lake in the Middle East and the sixth largest salt lake in the whole world , but now unfortunately only %5 of its water is remained.

Iran: mullahs’ operatives damage national-cultural heritages

Bakhtiary Iranians in the city of Ahvaz, southwest Iran, staged a demonstration on Monday, May 16^th, protesting the damaging of national heritages and symbols of the Constitutional Revolution period [early 1900s] by operatives loyal to the mullahs’ regime and supreme leader Ali Khamenei.

Following the damages inflicted to the statue of Ass’ad Bakhtiary, a legend of the Constitutional Revolution who conquered Tehran, by the gangs and hoodlums of the mullahs’ regime in Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiary Province, the Bakhtiary Iranian community held a demonstration protesting these measures that are considered an insult to Iran’s culture and history. Video footages of the damages inflicted on the Ass’ad Bakhtiary statue has been posted on the Internet, showing the police being present at the scene yet taking no action to prevent this hideous measures.

Iran: growing number of suicides amongst youth

The painful and unfortunate tragedy of numerous suicides in Iran have been gradually on the rise in the past few weeks, with the main reason behind this social phenomenon being widespread poverty and a new wave of hopelessness the people face in Iran under the mullahs’ rule. One may conclude that unfortunately suicide in Iran is considered the last method of protest for the people. When people sees no prospect for the evaluation and resolution of the never-ending dilemmas in a society ruled by fundamentalist mullahs, this is how the youth react and show their protest to the incompetence and repressive measures imposed by the ruling elite.

IRAN: CRACKDOWNS CONTINUE DISPITE RELEASE OF SOME POLITICAL PRISONERS

The Associated Press reports that on Tuesday, the cartoonist and social activist Atena Farghadani had been released from Evin Prison, in line with an earlier reduction of her sentence from a staggering 12 years to only 18 months.

However, despite the greatly diminished punishment, human rights advocates lament the fact that the appeals court upheld any punishment whatsoever, given that her charges were based on her having drawn and shared a cartoon depicting Iranian officials as animals in order to protest policies that restricted the rights of women and greatly reduced access to birth control.

IRANIAN PRISONER KNOWN AS A LEADING LADY FOR JOURNALIST

In a ceremony in Paris on May 2, Reporters Without Borders declared four journalists to be heroes and heroines of 2016; amongst them was Ms. Narges Mohammadi, an Iranian political prisoner, lawyer, and human rights activist.

During this ceremony, Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo expressed her support for all those who work for freedom of expression. She presented City of Paris medals to the chosen journalists and praised their endeavors, saying that the gates of the French capital will always be open to them.

Mohammadi has been arrested many times for her human rights activities. She was last arrested on 5 May 2015 at her home by judicial security agents without prior notice and was transferred to the notorious Evin Prison in northern Tehran. The arrest initiated a six-year prison sentence that had already been handed down in March 2011.

Human Rights Groups Condemn Journalists Prison Sentences in Iran

CAIRO—U.S. human rights groups are condemning the sentences imposed by an Iranian court on four journalists who were arrested late last year. The four were accused of “paving the way for U.S. infiltration of the country.”

The Iranian judiciary has handed down sentences of five to 10 years in prison to the journalists who were arrested last November in the period leading up to parliamentary elections.

I knew Kerman had the first word in Iran’s mining industry because I was aware of the official numbers that 15,732 of the 84,922 miners in Iran are from Kerman Province. This is around 19%.

According to reports received from Tehran, from 7 am on Sunday, April 17^th around, 4,000 retired Isfahan steel mill workers – some with their families – rallied outside the Iranian regime’s parliament. The number of protesters increased by the minute, reaching 5,000 by 10 am. Reports say the rally continued for two days up to now.

The protesters demanded their unpaid pensions and retirement benefits.

Thousands of drivers of large trucks in the cities of Bandar Abbas, Shiraz, Isfahan and Yazd launched widespread protests and strikes.

On Monday 4,500 truck drivers in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, staged a protest rally and went on strike on Monday, April 11^th. These drivers protested the transportation system, corruption and tax extortion.

At times these hardworking drivers are forced to wait 20 days in line, and remain out of work, whereas regime elements wait only a few hours and receive their payload.

Moreover, the Tax Organization in Iran demands heavy taxes from these drivers and even demands taxes on surplus values.

Iran- Kid dies of air pollution in Ahwaz

Eleven year old Foad Hanafi died of asthma in Ahwaz, center of the south western county of Khuzestan, on February 23^rd, just a few days before Iran’s sham elections.

Another kid, also in Ahwaz, was reported to have died for the same reason. Fearing people’s protests Rouhani government ordered the media not to publish the news.
