Seven juvenile offenders are planned to be executed by Iranian regime

The Iranian regime in yet another brutal measure has transferred 7 

juvenile offender to the solitary confinement for imminent execution.

As a step prior to carrying out executions, the fundamentalist regime of Iran moves the death row inmates to the solitary confinement a day or days before the sentence is carried out. The 7 are in what is called by Iranian people as Gohardasht prison or as it is called by the regime the Rajaie-shahr prison located some 20 miles northwest of Tehran in the city of Karaj.

Rouhie Safajoo, a student banned from Iranian universities because of her Baha’i faith and arrested for her online activism, was released on March 27, 2016 on 500 million rials (about $16,500 USD) bail, nearly three weeks after her arrest.

“We are very happy Rouhie is free,” her sister, Maryam Safajoo, told the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran. “But the real story is that for the past 37 years [since Iran’s 1979 revolution], Baha’i students have been denied the right to attend university.”

Amnesty International warns juvenile offender could be executed soon

Himan Uraminejad is on death row in Iran for an offence carried out when he was a child.

Himan Uraminejad aged 21 is on death row in Sanandaj’s Prison, western Kurdistan Province, where he has been told he will be executed after the Iranian New Year holiday period ends on 1 April.

Amnesty International has warned, “In its ruling, the court ignored the absolute prohibition, in international law, on using the death penalty against people who were under 18 at the time of the crime, and the fundamental principles of juvenile justice that require all those under 18 years old be treated as children,” .

Amnesty has called for an Urgent Action and added, “Amnesty International has recorded at least 73 executions of juvenile offenders between 2005 and 2015. According to the UN at least 160 juvenile offenders are now on death row. Amnesty International has been able to identify the names of 49 of these juvenile offenders, some of whom have been on death row for over a decade”.

Iran- Another Political prisoner goes on hunger strike

 Blogger Hossein Ronaghi was arrested in December 2009 by IRGC intelligence on charges of “insulting the Supreme Leader, Khamenei” and “insulting the President Rouhani”. He was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.

Ronaghi is afflicted to several physical deficiencies such as respiratory, heart problem, kidney disorder, stomach bleeding and . . . , but the prison authorities neither provide him with medical services, nor allow him to go to hospital on his own expenses. Further he is kept among ordinary and criminal prisoners.

Ronaghi started a hunger strike on Saturday March 26^th to protest Khamenei’s agents depriving him of medical attention. Ahmad Ronaghi, Hossen’s father, has announced that he would also go on hunger strike if his son’s demand for medical attention is not met.

Kianoosh Assaa, a student at Tehran’s 

“Elm-o-Sanaat” university, was kidnapped and murdered, by agents of Mullahs’ regime, during the 2009 mass uprising. At his birthday, early this month, his friends and relatives gathered at his grave in Kermanshah, Kianoosh’s home town, to commemorate his memory.

Iran: women without head-to-toe chadors not allowed into Mashhad medical centers

The Vali-Asr Medical Center in Mashhad, northeast Iran, is banning women without head-to-toe chadors from entering, according to eyewitness reports from inside Iran.

“Only patients with complete Islamic cover are allowed in this medical center”, a sign reads at the entrance gate of this medical center.

“Before entering an employee confronted me and said I am not allowed to enter the facility,” said a young woman.

Iran’s freedom-loving women are enduring all types of psychological pressures and humiliations by the mullahs’ regime, including violation of their freedom of clothing. They are continuously harassed and restricted in this regard.

Iranians celebrating end-of-the-year Fire Festivities

Despite all hardships, the Iranian people are always full of hope and celebrating the last Tuesday night of their calendar year that marks the beginning of spring in late March every year. This is a celebration of traditional Iranian customs, jumping over fires, ridding themselves of all the “bads” of the passing year to the fire, and taking in all the “goods” from the fire for the upcoming year. This is a sign of change, as the flames of fire are signals of uprisings and revolt against darkness, the cold and all “bads” in the depth of night.

Sunday afternoon, March 6th - Spectators turned the match between two teams, in the premier league, into a battlefield. They were angry with the exclusive policies of Mullahs ‘Football Federation.

The fight, between spectators and security forces, broke out while some FIFA officials were present.

Iran: Bloochis as ethnic minorities under government’s constant suppression

Iranian Baloochi college student was maliciously killed by government forces

Amin Shahnavazi, a Computer Science student, of the Baloochi ethnic minority, was shot dead on March 1 when members of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and paramilitary Bassij suddenly opened fire on his car without giving any prior notice. Security forces left his dead body behind and fled the area.

Iran: regime imposing continuous pressure on Sunni Baluchi community

Agents of the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS/VEVAK) and Revolutionary Guards in the region of Sarbaz in Sistan & Baluchistan Province (southeast Iran) are continuously imposing pressure on Sunni Baluchis, especially their youth. Currently it has been more than four months and there is no information of a Sunni cleric by the name of Hafez Abdulrahim Kuhi and his family is not informed of their loved one’s status.

Iran: Clashes amongst people and police in southwest of iran

On Wednesday, March 2^nd clashes were reported between people and police in the city of Shadegan in Khuzestan Province, southwest Iran. People were protesting the police’s recent raids across the city.

These clashes, lasting for many hours, the police were seen fleeing the scenes and people confiscating their vehicles.

During these clashes the police opened fire and killed an individual by the name of Hossein Asakere. A funeral was held on Friday, March 4^th and the police, feeling threatened, had secretly surrounded the entire site.

The police then intended to arrest a number of people, to which they were responded with severe protests.

Iran: political prisoners in Evin Prison harassed by regime elements

Ruhollah Tavasoli, commander of the Bassij paramilitary forces in Evin Prison and head of ward 7 in this facility, had drug smugglers placed into hall 12 and ordered them to be in charge of their rooms. He was seeking to insult the political prisoners and gain information about conditions inside the hall. Tavasoli had hired these drug smugglers and informants in an attempt to also humiliate political prisoners.

Amnesty International: Iranian Juvenile Offender faces death

Amnesty International reported on March 2^nd that an Iranian juvenile offender Amir Amrollahi has been sentenced to death for the second time, after a retrial and following a decade in prison. Amir was 16 years old at the time of the crime in November 2005,

Beside Amir Amrollahi, at least seven other juvenile offenders – Salar Shadizadi, Hamid Ahmadi, Sajad Sanjari, Siavash Mahmoudi, Himan Uraminejad, Amanj Veisee, and Fatemeh Salbehi –have been sentenced to death in Iran.

Fatemeh Salbehi, who was 17 years old at the time of the commission of the crime, was executed in October 2015.

Amnesty International has recorded at least 73 executions of juvenile offenders between 2005 and 2015. According to the UN at least 160 juvenile offenders are now on death row.
