Ahwaz South East of Iran – State suppressive forces raided a restaurant on Saturday March 26th and arrested about 20 youths. In another event government forces government forces savagely stormed the "enghelab" district at midnight and arrested a number of youths. All Detainees were taken to an unknown location. Questions made by families about the conditions and whereabouts of their loved ones were left unanswered.

After the recent antigovernment rallies and protest in Ahwaz which ended up in clashes between people and the security forces, government is using arrests and intimidations to extinguish the demonstrations.

Iranians celebrating end-of-the-year Fire Festivities

Despite all hardships, the Iranian people are always full of hope and celebrating the last Tuesday night of their calendar year that marks the beginning of spring in late March every year. This is a celebration of traditional Iranian customs, jumping over fires, ridding themselves of all the “bads” of the passing year to the fire, and taking in all the “goods” from the fire for the upcoming year. This is a sign of change, as the flames of fire are signals of uprisings and revolt against darkness, the cold and all “bads” in the depth of night.

Student: Sir, can I say! My mom and dad say they don’t know the reason. They say it just has to be and we have always liked it. But can you tell us more?

Iran: youths in Isfahan calling for protests during ‘Fire Festivities’

According to reports obtained on Friday, March 4^th, in various areas of Isfahan, people, especially young boys and girls, have been preparing for Iran’s famous end-of-the-year ‘Fire Festivities’. Most of the people are in various parts of southern Isfahan gathering at evenings and nights and sounds of firecrackers are heard from a far distance. This is a type of invitation for the Fire Festivities celebrations.

This report added there are also sounds of firecrackers and similar scenes in the northern parts of Isfahan.

The Iranian people welcoming these festivities has always been a sign of protest to the ruling regime, whose senior officials continuously call on people to refrain from such activities.

Iran: Clashes amongst people and police in southwest of iran

On Wednesday, March 2^nd clashes were reported between people and police in the city of Shadegan in Khuzestan Province, southwest Iran. People were protesting the police’s recent raids across the city.

These clashes, lasting for many hours, the police were seen fleeing the scenes and people confiscating their vehicles.

During these clashes the police opened fire and killed an individual by the name of Hossein Asakere. A funeral was held on Friday, March 4^th and the police, feeling threatened, had secretly surrounded the entire site.

The police then intended to arrest a number of people, to which they were responded with severe protests.

Suppressive forces spread in parts of Tehran for fear of mass protests

 Reports coming out of Iran indicate that on Tuesday march 1^st, government security forces occupied key points of the capital Tehran to prevent people forming protests and uprisings.

Locations such as Vanak square, Karim Khan Blvd., Enghelab and Fatemi streets, all in the center of Tehran, which were scenes of previous uprisings, were full of special units with their motorbikes and cars on.

Tehran is the main base of antagonism to the Supreme Leader”.

Tehran remains the main threat to the Supreme Leader

 After Khamenei’s severe defeat in last week sham elections, Shojooni, a clergy close to Khamenei, said on Feb. 29^th,” Tehran is the main base of antagonism to the revolution and the Supreme Leader”.

Experts say the Feb. 26 elections was a defeat for the whole system of rule in Iran as the entire “Islamic Republic of Iran” is formed and based on the Supreme Leader ‘s authority which is now being challenged from within.
