Iran: youths released from prison face enormous difficulties

Fereshte Asanlu hosted a gathering of mothers in Iran. We were all worried about a young man recently released of prison and engulfed with heavy debts. For a few days after returning home they see their friends and relatives. Then, real life kicks in. Unemployment, living problems… Let me explain more.

Omid Alishenas, the son of Simin, is a construction engineer. He was sentenced to 10 years behind bars for his activities for labor children! It has been a few months since he has been released from prison under a very heavy bail. However, he remains unemployed.

Months ago when Arash Sadeghi and my dear Golrokh came to my home I asked him what is your job? He said I am unemployed. I said it is obvious there will be no government jobs for you. But what about opening a store to sell goods? He said for such a permit he would have to work for many months to finally earn a profit. I said yes. He also said how do I know how long I will remain out of prison? At any moment they may issue a new verdict and force me to return to prison.

Iran: mullahs’ operatives damage national-cultural heritages

Bakhtiary Iranians in the city of Ahvaz, southwest Iran, staged a demonstration on Monday, May 16^th, protesting the damaging of national heritages and symbols of the Constitutional Revolution period [early 1900s] by operatives loyal to the mullahs’ regime and supreme leader Ali Khamenei.

Following the damages inflicted to the statue of Ass’ad Bakhtiary, a legend of the Constitutional Revolution who conquered Tehran, by the gangs and hoodlums of the mullahs’ regime in Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiary Province, the Bakhtiary Iranian community held a demonstration protesting these measures that are considered an insult to Iran’s culture and history. Video footages of the damages inflicted on the Ass’ad Bakhtiary statue has been posted on the Internet, showing the police being present at the scene yet taking no action to prevent this hideous measures.

Iran: censorship, elimination of foreign & Sunni book in Tehran Book Exhibition

Ali Fereidooni, an official in charge of the Tehran Book Exhibition from Iran’s Ministry of Guidance, admitted to the practice of censorship in the book showcase.

“To this day a number of books have been rounded up as they have not met the context standards of the exhibition,” he said on Friday, May 6^th in an interview with the state ILNA news agency. “These books, in the Arabic, religious and foreign language books contained improper images.”

Freedom House annual freedom of press report ranks Iran amongst last 10 states

Freedom House published its 2015 report on the status of freedom of press in 199 countries across the globe, including Iran.

The Freedom House report classifies all countries based on the ranking they receive in three general classes of free, relatively free and not free.

Iran has been ranked amongst the 10 worst countries regarding press freedoms in the year 2015.

In a part of freedom house annual report under the subtitle of “Other Major Developments in 2015” we read:

Iran: children without birth certificates

One can barely tolerate the emotions when looking in the eyes of such beautiful children, not knowing what fate the vicious mullahs in Iran have in mind for their innocent lives

There is currently no institution, entity or organization able to provide exact and official figures on how many children in Iran lack birth certificates, according to a report issued on April 20^th. Despite all this, based on a relative, non-official figure, more than 400,000 children in Iran lack any kind of birth certificate.

International Labor Day in Iran, solidarity amongst all walks of life

We are nearing May 1^st, marking International Labor Day, and each day there are new calls from laborers to stage marches and protests against the ruling mullahs’ cruelty and oppression. In solidarity with laborers across Iran, college students condemned the cruelty and oppression imposed on Iran’s laborers and called for solidarity from all walks of life. This includes students of South Tehran Free University who issued a statement in this regard: “We, a group of students of Tehran Free University, congratulate our country’s dear workers on International Labor Day and condemn the cruelty and oppression imposed against you under the mullahs’ regime. We call on all international organizations and anyone across the globe that are active in labor affairs to take action to improve the conditions of laborers.”

The current trend of this surveillance will continue on a 24-hour basis, Khancherli added.

Closed circuit TV cameras have been installed in surrounding vicinity of all coffee shops, teahouses and restaurant in line with the clerical regime’s policy of interfering with people’s private lives. 

With follow-ups by the police around 460 traditional teahouses and halls where customers do not abide by ‘hijab’ regulations, will always be under the threat of being closed down.

Police taking action against women and even young men’s clothing, considered “improper hijab” by the state, is one of the most comprehensive pressures imposed by the police and plainclothes agents against ordinary Iranians.

The city of Tehran is considered one of the most polluted cities in the world, and most reports from inside the regime have described conditions in this city as many times more difficult than tolerable norms.

In this regard a group of environment activists in Tehran made a call to hold their April 1^st gathering in Baharestan Square:

On April 1^st we will gather at Baharestan Square in a rally for the environment. We will be in reconciliation with our trees, the jungles and all the greens.

We hope for more secure cities, with less smoke and trash. We hope for an Iran full of children laughing.

We have chosen Baharestan Square, with the name of spring (Bahar in Persian), the name of life being reborn. Let’s hope a bill will be adopted in support of the greens in the most important building of this square.

The ongoing power struggle has made the whole system weaker.

It may be argued that “elections” is a word found in democratic systems that use “power struggle” to choose a new government. So what the heck is all the dust up when Mullahs, with all their “bad habits”, are forced to experience this democratic process? Let’s welcome and have business with Iran’s new moderate government.

A resonating voice heaps on us in the air, “Shush!” says the Iranian populace. If Mullahs were to respect “elections”, they would not have to disguise themselves as “Muslims”.

Of course, the reason behind such measures is obvious for us. The mullahs’ regime itself is behind the misogyny phenomenon in Iran, acid attacks and beating women in public under various pretexts, including not abiding by strict clothing regulations. This social corruption has roots in the mullahs’ reactionary ideology.

Rouhie Safajoo, a student banned from Iranian universities because of her Baha’i faith and arrested for her online activism, was released on March 27, 2016 on 500 million rials (about $16,500 USD) bail, nearly three weeks after her arrest.

“We are very happy Rouhie is free,” her sister, Maryam Safajoo, told the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran. “But the real story is that for the past 37 years [since Iran’s 1979 revolution], Baha’i students have been denied the right to attend university.”

Six Exclusive Documents Indict Iran, Hezbollah for 9/11 Attacks

Exclusively-obtained US court documents have exposed a link between Iran and the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The documents, published this week by pan-Arab newspaper Asharq al-Awsat, revealed that a New York District Court ordered Iran to pay more than $10.5 billion in damages to families of people killed in the attacks and to a group of insurers.

Reports indicate massive raids and arrests in Sistan and Bloochestan County by Iranian regime’s security forces. In recent days a young Balooch by the name of Ayoub Saboori of Nassir Abad village, in the suburb of the city of Sarbaz, was arrested. His family has no news about his conditions or whereabouts.

Earlier in January the IRGC suppressive forces raided the same village and took twelve other youths with them. The detainees were later tried in closed courts without any lawyer defending them. 

Iran: Mullahs IRGC are exporting hackers throughout the globe

US Ministry of justice has given out names and pictures of seven Iranian nationals who are accused of hackering in files of banks and financial institutions and also a dam in the United States. Loretta lynch , US minister of justice, said in a press conference on Thursday March 24^th that her ministry  has filed legal complaints against seven Iranians for hackering, in 46 financial entities including Bank of America, that has caused millions of Dollars of loss.

US ministry of justice has announced that these seven hackers are agents of Iranian regime and work for IRGC “Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps”

Iran – A New Year, a year of hope and faith in imminent change

As an Iranian, who has put the last Persian calendar year behind me and I am beginning a new year for my tormented country of Iran. The New Year for me is of course a year of hope and faith in change, alteration and prosperity. For those who may not be familiar, the Iranian calendar year begins with spring, this year on March 20^th.

Iran- women: Girls make up 78% of children deprived of education

Ardeshir Shoja’ii, deputy director of Khuzistan Province’s Department of Education, said, 78 per cent of elementary students deprived of education are girls.

“There is a total of 14,088 school children in this province who are deprived of education and they are mostly consisted of 7 to 14-year-old girls”, he added.

He admitted, “Most students in deprived areas are marrying in early ages and do not continue their education”.  (State-run Asr-e Iran website - March 16, 2016)

Iran- A government agent expresses his protests to the country’s authorities.

 Mohammad Najafi, a lawyer affiliated with the Mullahs government, has spoken against the government while speaking in a mosque in his home town of Shazand in the center of Iran. Najafi condemned government officials for their treason, corruption, grafts, impoverishing the people, and spending the wealth of Iranian people in Syria and Iraq.

Speaking in the last week of elections campaign at a memorial ceremony for a Shazand worker, who committed suicide by hanging himself, Najafi criticized His Eminence the Supreme Leader. The audience upheld Najafi’s words by their frequent “Salavats” (Salute for prophet Mohammad, as it is a custom in Muslim mosques).
