On Wednesday, March 2nd clashes were
reported between people and police in the city of Shadegan in Khuzestan
Province, southwest Iran. People were protesting the police’s recent raids
across the city.
These clashes, lasting for many hours, the police
were seen fleeing the scenes and people confiscating their vehicles.
During these clashes the police opened fire and
killed an individual by the name of Hossein Asakere. A funeral was held on
Friday, March 4th and the police, feeling threatened, had secretly
surrounded the entire site.
The police then intended to arrest a number of
people, to which they were responded with severe protests.
