Iran: youths in Isfahan calling for protests during ‘Fire Festivities’

According to reports obtained on Friday, March 4^th, in various areas of Isfahan, people, especially young boys and girls, have been preparing for Iran’s famous end-of-the-year ‘Fire Festivities’. Most of the people are in various parts of southern Isfahan gathering at evenings and nights and sounds of firecrackers are heard from a far distance. This is a type of invitation for the Fire Festivities celebrations.

This report added there are also sounds of firecrackers and similar scenes in the northern parts of Isfahan.

The Iranian people welcoming these festivities has always been a sign of protest to the ruling regime, whose senior officials continuously call on people to refrain from such activities.

Iran: Clashes amongst people and police in southwest of iran

On Wednesday, March 2^nd clashes were reported between people and police in the city of Shadegan in Khuzestan Province, southwest Iran. People were protesting the police’s recent raids across the city.

These clashes, lasting for many hours, the police were seen fleeing the scenes and people confiscating their vehicles.

During these clashes the police opened fire and killed an individual by the name of Hossein Asakere. A funeral was held on Friday, March 4^th and the police, feeling threatened, had secretly surrounded the entire site.

The police then intended to arrest a number of people, to which they were responded with severe protests.

Iran: political prisoners in Evin Prison harassed by regime elements

Ruhollah Tavasoli, commander of the Bassij paramilitary forces in Evin Prison and head of ward 7 in this facility, had drug smugglers placed into hall 12 and ordered them to be in charge of their rooms. He was seeking to insult the political prisoners and gain information about conditions inside the hall. Tavasoli had hired these drug smugglers and informants in an attempt to also humiliate political prisoners.

“I killed 200 Iraqi captives” Says a member of Iran’s Parliament

Shargh state newspaper – Saturday, March 5^th, - Nader  Qazipoor member of Iran’s “parliament’ said in a speech in his election champagne, “ probably, you have not  cut the head of a chicken in your life , but ( in the war with Iraq) I had to cut off the heads of 200 Iraqi captives “.

In another speech in his champagne Qazipoor made insulting comments about women.

Youths welcome Rouhani by tearing off his portrait

 

  

While Iran’s president Hassan Rouhani is preparing to travel to the central city of Yazd, the youths in that city have shown their abhorrence for President of executions by tearing off a big banner showing his picture.

It is worthy to say execution of up to 2300 people is part of Rohani’s dossier during his past five years presidency

 A court in Tehran has sentenced Esmail Ahmadi-Ragheb to six months in prison for “propaganda against the state” for posting content on social media that was critical of government policy.

Ahmadi-Ragheb who has two children lost his job for the same reason.

Iran – You have no right to protest the government why it ridicules ethnic minorities

 

23 Iranian Turks, including three women were sentenced to jail and torture for against a TV program insulting the Turks, to prison and flogging.

 People of cities in the Turkish speaking part of Iran (Azerbaijan) _ such as Tabriz, Ardebil, Zanjan, Khoy, Oroomieh, and Meshkin Shahr staged protests last November against a state run TV program insulting the Turk community. The protest turned violent as government suppressive forces attacked the crowds. Many protestors were arrested.

A court in Tabriz charged the protestors for as “disrupting public order through participation in illegal gatherings.” and sentenced 23 of them to one year suspended jail and 74 lashes each.
