The Mullahs
ruling Iran have built prisons to stifle Iranian people’s ambitions for a free
society. Female political prisoners celebrated March 8th in the
cells of the notorious Evin Prison at the same time that this international
event was commemorated by other noble women around the world.
“March 8th
belongs to women who struggle to bring changes in the discriminatory conditions
of women... the price to be paid for
this struggle, apart from humiliation; in some countries is imprisonment and
torture. It needs to be found out that how many countries in the world use
prison, torture and acid throwing to curb women’s struggle for equality.” This
was a part of speech given by Narguess Mohammadi, a political prisoner at
women’s section in Evin Prison, (Hrana News Agency).
Narguess
Mohammadi has been arrested for her human rights activities including her fight
against the death penalty.
