Iran: regime imposing continuous pressure on Sunni Baluchi community

Agents of the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS/VEVAK) and Revolutionary Guards in the region of Sarbaz in Sistan & Baluchistan Province (southeast Iran) are continuously imposing pressure on Sunni Baluchis, especially their youth. Currently it has been more than four months and there is no information of a Sunni cleric by the name of Hafez Abdulrahim Kuhi and his family is not informed of their loved one’s status.

Hafez Abdulrahim Kuhi was arrested by Revolutionary Guards agents on November 19th, 2015 along with Molavi Amanollah Baluchi in the city of Sarbaz. To this day they have had no phone calls or any visits with their family members, and due to “existing signs” their families are concerned of coerced confessions.
It is worth noting that Haj Ibrahim Kuhi, the father of this cleric, went to the city of Zahedan, capital of Sistan & Baluchistan Province on January 26th to visit his son. However, MOIS/VEVAK and Revolutionary Guards agents told him, “Your son’s court case has not been completed and you cannot visit him.”

This father was then told to come back 20 days later to see his son. However, despite the fact that the family of this Baluchi religious political prisoner has attempted many times they have been deprived from any visits or even a phone call.
