Iran: political prisoner Taheri on dry hunger strike in Tehran

The life of political prisoner Mohammad Ali Taheri is in grave danger after he began a dry hunger strike.
Mohammad Ali Taheri began his hunger strike on February 7th as prison officials refused to release him despite his prison term coming to an end. Reports indicate he is currently in dire physical conditions. This political prisoner was returned to Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison on February 10th despite his dire physical conditions and being hospitalized for two days. There is no information about his current health conditions.

Taheri has said he will not tolerate even one additional day to a sentence issued by the regime’s own judiciary and it is completely unacceptable. He has also emphasized he will not back down from his legal and human rights, and has no choice but to sacrifice his life for this cause.
