Dozens of people were arrested on Sunday
during a peaceful protest in Tehran. State Security Forces (SSF) raided a rally
by those who had gathered outside Tehran’s Evin prison and the home to political
prisoner Mohammad Ali Taheri demanding his release.

Mr. Taheri, had been condemned to five years in prison and a fine of 9 billion Rials plus 74 lashes for ludicrous charges such as “insulting the sanctities; illicit usage of scientific titles (doctor and engineer); writing misleading books and articles”.

prison calling for his release. The Iranian regime prevented Mr. Taheri’s wife
and children to join the protest outside Evin Prison.
