Iran: police raids ski hub in Tehran

Police in Tehran raided a ski hub in Tehran’s Tuchal region located north of the Iranian capital at 8 in the morning on Friday, February 5th. The police insulted and harassed the youth and especially the ladies, leading to bystanders protesting their measures.
To create a climate of fear and increase the number of executions across the country the Islamic Republic of Iran has launched a number of new police units, including the ‘Mountain Police’ and … all aimed at increasing its crackdown on the youth and spreading fear throughout society.

It is worth noting that police even resorted to force against the youth and others at the ski hub, including members of the ski federation. As a sign of protest the people began leaving the facility.

Reports indicate the police dispatched a large number of agents to such ski hubs in response to youths posting pictures of young men and women skiing on social media, encouraging others to ski and also co-ed skiing.
